Collision Mitigation Braking System
What is Collision Mitigation Braking System?
Introducing Honda's Collision Mitigation Braking SystemTM (CMBSTM), part of the Honda SensingTM suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies designed to create a safer driving experience for you and your loved ones. The CMBS comes standard on EX, EX-L and Touring models and was developed to reduce the severity of frontal collision impact. The state-of-the-art technology alerts drivers of potential collision to assist with taking necessary steps to ensure their safety. It works by scanning up to 330ft of the road ahead and progresses through three main stages of action. In stage one, the system will flash a brake warning and an auditory assist. If the driver fails to act in a timely manner, the system automatically applies light braking to ensure the safety of the driver and passengers. In the final stage, if the driver fails to act and the system determines a collision is unavoidable, the system initiates strong braking to ensure the safety of the driver and passengers. This feature scans up to 100m of the road ahead and can alert you when a potential frontal collision with a vehicle or pedestrian is apparent. To help minimize the severity of a potential collision, the vehicle speed is reduced.
