How to Fill your Tire with Air
Notice your tire is a little low on air? Filling your tire to the recommended PSI (pounds per square inch) is quick, easy and will prevent from a tire blowout. Here are a few simple steps on how to fill your tire with air:
1. Make sure you have an air pressure gauge: With this tool, you will be able to check the pressure in your tires. You can buy this at your local auto parts store.
2. Refer to the recommended PSI pressure: This information can be found on the inside of the driver's door or in your owner's manual.
3. Prepare a pump to produce air: You can use a bicycle pump to manually inflate your tires or a compressor, either at home (if you own one) or at your nearest gas station by pulling your car alongside the air dispenser and following the directions (prices may vary).
4. Remove the valve cap from the stem and add air: Place the pump onto the stem located near your hubcap (apply pressure so no air will leak out). If you exceed the recommended PSI and need to bleed air, press the center of the pin located in the valve stem.
5. Replace the valve cap back onto its stem: Make sure the cap is secure.
Repeat this process for each tire if necessary.
